EPISODE 162

Are these 3 fears keeping you from achieving your vision for your school this year?

Biggest Takeaways You Don't Want to Miss:

  • If you don’t believe in your vision for your school, no one else will either.
  • There are 3 big fears that keep us from setting ambitious visions for our schools. Unless you overcome these fears, it will be hard for you to set and achieve a worthy vision for 100% of your students.
  • When you allow your vision to expand beyond your fears and your previous training, you unleash new passion and determination inside of your heart and accomplish more than you ever thought was possible.
  • When you take the leap from leadership to Buildership, you learn to step beyond the limitations of your fears and create a bigger vision for your school -- one that includes EVERY ONE of your students.

Why are we so afraid to set an ambitious vision for our schools? Whenever I am working with school administrators about setting ambitious visions for their schools-- the kind of vision that includes 100% of their students -- I always meet resistance.

Usually, that resistance takes 3 forms: Some say, "I can't say all my students because there's no way every student can reach that goal." Others say, "What if I don't reach the goal?" And still others worry that they won't be able to reach that goal with the teachers and resources (or district) they currently have.

That’s why this week, we’re revisiting Episode 42 where we’ll address the fears that may be holding you back and settle those fears once and for all #LikeABuilder.

Check out these highlights:

  • How to know when your vision is big enough.
  • Why we settle for lackluster visions.
  • Why you’ll never achieve a 100% vision in your current school.
  • How SMART goals actually limit your vision.
  • When do you know “times up” on your vision?
  • Can you achieve your vision with your current staff?
  • How Builders set and achieve bigger visions for their schools even when they don’t know at the start exactly how they will accomplish them.
