EPISODE 65

Be Stubborn on Your Vision,
Flexible on the Details

Biggest Takeaways You Don't Want to Miss:
  • You need not give up on your vision for students in times of crisis. In fact, it’s in times of crisis that you need to double-down on your vision in order to give everyone direction on how to navigate uncertain times.
  • Builders know how to be flexible without eroding their focus. There are three things they do that allow them to pivot quickly, without sacrificing their vision for students.

I know that I spend a lot of time talking about your vision, but there's a reason for that. Your vision is your north star. If you ever want to build a school where EVERY student is successful, then every decision you make must get sifted through your vision. While you may agree that's true most of the time, what about in times of crisis?

During these uncertain days, is vision really what we need to be talking about right now?
The answer is absolutely.

But, how you work towards achieving your vision will look different. On today's episode, I'll share three ways you will need to adjust how you pursue your school's vision in the short term and share some real-life examples of how Builders are staying stubborn on their visions, but being flexible on the details. Hopefully, you'll be inspired to double-down on your vision and help your school thrive in the midst of crisis #LikeABuilder.
